Chief town of 2058 inhabitants district, on one of the Switzerland – Ocean road, the town of Châteaumeillant is on the road between Clermont (Puy de Dôme) - Tours (Indre and the Loire) and between Montlucon (Allier) and Chateauroux (Indre), with 30km of the motorway A71 Orleans (Loiret) - Clermont within 2h30 driving to the capital city, Paris.
Located in the very south east of the department of Cher, close to the various Centres of France, Châteaumeillant is in connection with the departments of Allier, of Creuse and Indre.
